A distinctly Nordic aesthetic, drawing on bohemian and industrial influences. Nordal, a Danish brand founded in 1991 by Annie and Ingolf, offers original collections that will blend seamlessly into your home. Functional, original, bohemian and romantic pieces with a delightfully retro feel, which will fit in just as naturally in a loft-style setting as in a country-style home.
Nordal is a Danish family-run business, characterised by an unrivalled passion and focus on functionality in interior design. It all began in 1991 with the sale of antique furniture from India. Ingolf Nordal, captivated by this country with its endless possibilities and vibrant colours, began importing distressed furniture and gradually realised that many buyers shared his passion. Together with his wife Annie, he developed his brand, and Nordal was born.
His children, Signe and Mads, later joined the venture, bringing their own modern touch and collaborating with talented designers. Their products are now sold across Europe and the United States, whilst the company remains an exceptional family business. Their guiding principle is to create personalised interiors that suit everyone, to find what makes you happy, and to combine the aesthetics of contemporary design with the warmth of a functional interior. Their latest collection features natural materials, such as rattan and soft fabrics, as well as colourful lighting in geometric shapes with clean lines, contrasting with a more ethical style. Their tableware collection is available in glass and recycled plastic, in pastel shades.
In the kitchen, wood and steel take centre stage, with soft, practical pieces, as well as ceramic tableware and bamboo colanders. There’s something for everyone! Their textiles combine warm colours with cosy materials: velvet, woven fabrics, rattan and cotton. You’ll also find faux fur rugs to add a touch of warmth to your floors and bedrooms! In the living room, you’ll find metal side tables, Art Deco-style mirrors in geometric shapes, as well as console tables in natural teak and cane, and brass picture frames to hang on the wall.
In short, Nordal stands out for its minimalist style, understated colours and high-quality materials, with a retro and industrial aesthetic that enhances your modern interiors. It offers a lifestyle that makes you want to take your time and press the ‘pause’ button.
