Luca Nichetto
It is not so much the number of projects that matters, but their significance.
Luca Nichetto was born in 1976 in Venice. After studying at the city’s Istituto statale d’arte, he went on to study at the IUAV University, also in Venice, where he graduated with a degree in industrial design in 1998. In 1999, Nichetto began his professional career with the Murano-based glassmaker Salviati, before becoming a consultant and product designer for the lighting company Foscarini. In 2006, he founded the studio that bears his name in Venice, then, in 2011, opened a second studio in Stockholm (Sweden), where he settled to live and work. Throughout his career, Nichetto has worked as an artistic director with numerous international design brands and gained in-depth knowledge of the sector.
He has taught and led workshops at several universities, notably teaching design at the IUAV University in Venice. He has also served on the juries of several international design competitions. Nichetto’s work has been exhibited worldwide and has been the subject of retrospectives in cities such as Venice, London, Paris and Stockholm. Highly sought-after and innovative, his creations – ranging from consumer goods and furniture to accessories, not to mention architectural projects and exhibition design – have received numerous international design awards.
