HAY Cushions

HAY cushions bring a distinctly recognisable touch of HAY design to interiors: carefully considered shapes, well-judged proportions and a controlled colour palette that works just as well on a sofa as on a chaise longue.

The HAY Cushions bring an unmistakable touch of HAY design to interiors: considered shapes, well-judged proportions and a carefully controlled colour palette that works just as well on a sofa as on a chaise longue. With 7 references available at The Cool Republic, this selection shows how the Danish brand combines accessibility with formal rigour, never at the expense of overall visual coherence. Each cushion stands as a compositional element in its own right, not merely an added layer of comfort.

Founded in 2002 in Copenhagen by Mette Hay and Rolf Hay, HAY has built its identity around a Scandinavian vision of contemporary design: functional, accessible pieces with a clear graphic line. Within the cushion range, this philosophy comes through in designs such as the Dot cushion, recognisable by its raised contrasting buttons and available in several sizes and a variety of fabrics. The shades on offer span a broad spectrum, from off-white to deeper tones, making them easy to integrate into all kinds of interiors. For those keen to look beyond HAY, the Ferm Living Cushions department and the Muuto Textile Cushions offer premium designer cushions in a similar Nordic register.

HAY cushions are made for those who put their interiors together methodically, seeking coherent pieces rather than isolated decorative flourishes. Placed on a sofa, arranged in a bedroom or used as a support in a reading corner, they sit naturally alongside the brand's other creations. To build a harmonious whole, it makes sense to pair them with the HAY Rugs or to explore the brand's entire universe via the All HAY products page. Approaching things collection by collection remains the surest way to achieve lasting visual unity in a home.
