Green Wooden Chairs

Green wooden chairs hold a singular place in contemporary furniture: their assertive colour converses with the natural material of the wood to create a piece that feels both grounded and alive. This collection brings together 74 models selected for their build quality, their aesthetic coherence and their ability to fit into a wide range of interiors. Whether a discreet sage green, a deep forest green or a delicate celadon, each shade brings a botanical presence that refreshes the atmosphere of a room. Wood remains one of the most widely worked materials in the history of seating, combining structural robustness with visual warmth. Scandinavian chairs did much to popularise this alliance between natural or coloured finishes and solid wood or plywood frames, a legacy carried forward today by houses such as HAY and &tradition. The HAY wooden chairs illustrate this approach perfectly: pared-back shapes, careful finishes and a confident colour palette in which green is entirely at home. The &tradition chairs follow a similar path, blending classic references with contemporary detailing. From one model to the next, the variations lie in the shape of the backrest, the thickness of the seat, the curve of the legs or the lacquer finish — all parameters that help identify the right chair for each interior project. The Muuto chairs round out the selection with a rigorous Nordic formal vocabulary and bold colours well represented across the green tones.

Green wooden chairs are particularly well suited to the dining room, where they add a note of colour without weighing down the scheme. Paired with a natural oak or marble table, they create a balanced contrast of materials. In a study or workspace, a high-backed model in deep green introduces character without disrupting concentration. To build a coherent look around a modern dining chair, it is best to limit competing colours and let the green take the lead as the room's principal accent.
