Frame - Design House Stockholm

Frame works beautifully against a wall, behind a sofa, as a room divider or as freestanding units. Harald Hermanrud sees his design as a comment on social media, on the need to express one's personality in order to fit into a culture. A physical, durable and adaptable platform that people can use at home. And it is the user who adds the finishing touch, arranging shelves and boxes throughout the easily reconfigurable shelving system. The real world flexes its muscles instead of the virtual realm.

"I saw a need to put things on show and wanted to give people the chance to create the perfect stage themselves for their most treasured artworks, records, books and plants."

Made from profiled rods that slot into one another, Frame is both lightweight and sturdy. And of course it is genuine Scandinavian wood, with particular care given to the joinery. There is, naturally, one small signature detail: the exposed solid brass rivet nuts catch the light and make the construction legible.
