Design House Stockholm

Does the Block lamp ring a bell? This table lamp, encased in a block of transparent ice, is the ingenious creation of Harri Koskinen, a designer renowned in Finland and around the world. He came up with an original interior design idea that went on to become a global success. This table lamp is a decorative piece that set the Design House Stockholm brand apart. Indeed, the brand distinguishes itself from traditional design labels and sees itself more as a publishing house for Scandinavian design. It aims to be creative and constantly seeks innovation; it therefore invites designers to contribute their own ideas, which are then selected and developed into collections, each more magnificent than the last. This new approach to design has been key to the brand’s success and shines a spotlight on emerging artists.

This new approach to the world of design, and the decision to work with both established and emerging designers, has enabled the public to discover talented designers and enjoy their original and surprising creations – such as the Knot cushion, which adds a bold and fresh touch to our interiors and sofas without overshadowing our traditional cushions. For cosy, Scandinavian-style interior design, the brand brings a Nordic feel to your living room with its Toso chairs. Featuring a leather-woven backrest and a wooden seat, they perfectly capture the essence of Swedish design. You’ll also be charmed by the Arco oak side table, paired with the sleek, designer Wick chairs to create an interior design worthy of its Swedish designer.

If you feel your living room lacks decorative items to make it a cosy place, add the beautiful light grey Björk rug under your sofa or simply in your bedroom, and you’ll create a warm, cosy atmosphere. For a Scandinavian-style interior, the brand can help you decorate every room in your home with their Scandinavian wooden furniture – perfect for the living room – their wide range of chairs, or their decorative items such as the Step step stool, which will add a touch of designer style to your dining room.

The brand’s designer furniture appeals for its simplicity, but above all because each of its functional pieces has personality and character, as well as being original. For example, this original Manana floor lamp for the home, in dark grey, is designed to be placed along the wall. This original lamp is an innovative idea that breaks with the conventions of traditional interior design, with its carefully considered finishes on its tripod base. As well as providing light, it serves as a wall decoration.

Silhouette, functionality, materials and innovative design: these are the elements that set Design House Stockholm apart. Scandinavian influences are evident in every creation, making them all the more appealing. The Cool Republic invites you to explore its selection of lighting and furniture, each piece proudly showcasing its design DNA.
