Florence Watine

Florence Watine’s travels and poetry are reflected in her furniture collections. Her career path is truly remarkable. Having initially embarked on a degree in Modern Literature, she left university and set up her first business designing screen-printed T-shirts on the Côte d’Azur. She then devoted several years of her life to travelling before realising her ultimate ambition: interior design.

She founded FLOW in the early 2000s, her interior design agency. Inspired by her extensive travels, particularly in Asia, she designs and creates hotels, restaurants and villas from Saint Barthélemy to Madrid, via Aix-en-Provence and Saint-Tropez. Her work is characterised by its refinement and simplicity, whilst reflecting the artist’s poetic and spontaneous nature. She pays close attention to the details that create the alchemy between each object in a room, each room in a house, and between the interior and exterior.

A few years after founding FLOW, the artist began designing her own pieces of furniture. Initially, Florence Watine sold only to certain clients and through galleries in the south of France, but it was her entrepreneurial spirit that led her to co-found Hartô, for whom she designed her first collections.

The artist, with her dreamy soul, says she is inspired by the elements of nature: the moon, salt, the wind and shooting stars. However, she likes to keep a level head when it comes to the materials used in her creations. Whether it is wood or metal, the designer demands a substantial lifespan for her pieces in the Suzon storage furniture collection. For Florence Watine, ‘light, volume and aesthetics’ are the constants in her creative process. Her sense of proportion and natural style enables her collection to blend seamlessly into any room with a sense of clarity and harmony.
