DOT - Lumina

The design of the DOT collection cleverly combines rigour with the most advanced lighting technology. DOT pendant lights consist of two parallel discs of differing sizes, joined at their centre by a slender metal tube. The smaller lower disc is turned from aluminium and houses an LED ring designed to cast a generous amount of light onto the upper disc in lacquered aluminium. When lit, the Dot pendant light becomes a slim, weightless disc that appears to float in mid-air, generating an enveloping, shadow-free flow of light.

The high-output light source generates an amount of heat that the lower disc could not dissipate on its own. The problem was solved by placing a heat sink within the tube connecting the two discs. Its function is to thermally connect the LED circuit to a heat sink housed in the upper disc.
