Oak and black steel Link shelf setup 1 - Studio Hausen

It was poetically in the former ballroom of a Berlin factory that this Setup1 shelf was designed, and it was crafted nearby in a true "made in Berlin" spirit. Oak wood and solid steel come together in this pared-back design, where the simplicity of its materials matters just as much as the purity of its lines. Four storage levels find their place in a clever balancing act. Linked by metal cables, they form a harmonious whole, seemingly suspended, ready to hold books and objects however you wish. This wood and metal wall shelf is an intelligently conceived system: assembly is remarkably simple, and several modules can be joined together via the largest shelf for a resolutely designer result.

Handcrafted in oak – carefully selected and sourced from sustainably managed forests – it boasts its very own grain pattern, and this difference is an integral part of its design. The wood has undergone no chemical treatment such as formaldehyde or other harmful substances, and the surface has been treated using natural oils alone. A natural patina will gradually enrich it over time. Its designer, Jörg Höltje, believes in the longevity of objects: it is with this commitment to quality and durability that he conceived Setup1, along with the other models making up the elegant Link range.
