The design of a piece of furniture by Marie Michielssen always starts with a series of sketches on paper. With a mathematical precision, she builds the volumes. The proportions must be perfect and adapted to the human body. For the low chair Valerie, she started with an elliptical base to which she added two rectangular surfaces, a seat and a backrest with a perfect angle that allows to sit with class and comfort. In plus of the version in lacquered steel, she has realized a version in noble oak wood, finished with a dark brown stain.
A chair that makes a statement, resolutely contemporary, suitable for sumptuous interiors.
Marie also likes steel because it is an honest material. What you see is what you get. The seat cushion in option adds extra comfort. The fabric, Belgian, worked à la by hand, was chosen by Marie for its tactile interest.
