Danish designer Hans Hornemann drew inspiration from his own life in Copenhagen to create the Ace series. The series is aimed at city dwellers, who value quality and aesthetics but also have to adapt to the limited space of urban living. With its organic, welcoming lines, Ace offers maximum comfort in a condensed form. In designing Ace, Hans Hornemann worked with the basic components of a chair – the back, the seat and the legs – and created a functional, aesthetic design with a smaller stature than traditional lounge furniture. The design strikes a fine balance between refinement and relaxed ease. The rounded contours emphasise the inviting volume of the full upholstery and are elegantly framed by the piping around the seat and back. A backrest tilted to the rear and boldly angled legs lend character and attitude, resulting in a design of timeless, nonchalant elegance.
