Black and gold shelf 520 cm Bookworm - Kartell

A jewel of ingenuity and technology, Bookworm is a cult bookcase that revolutionised the world of design… This flexible bookcase gives free rein to everyone's imagination and creativity: it bends and curves to suit your every whim and requirement! Conceived in 1994 by the great Israeli architect and designer Ron Arad, Bookworm dresses walls with a sublime undulating line, to the sheer delight of design lovers and bookworms alike.

Made by Italian manufacturer Kartell, this modular shelf is crafted from flexible PVC in a strikingly beautiful black and gold colourway. Its remarkable flexibility and enhanced strength allow each support to hold nearly 10 kg – a luxury for collectors of all kinds. This two-tone model comes with 11 gold bookends to be fixed on either side of this 5.20 m long shelf. Whether coiled like a snail or shaped into a serpentine curve, Bookworm adds a personalised, whimsical touch to any interior!

The avant-garde Bookworm bookcase makes itself at home in every room of the house, fitting beautifully on the walls of a child's bedroom or a large, welcoming living room. Picture its sinuous curves above a colourful bench in the lounge area, or weaving mischievously between the frames and wall shelves of a spacious office.

The Bookworm bookcase comes in three different lengths (320 cm, 520 cm, 820 cm) and in a multitude of colours, with various versions available at The Cool Republic.
