HAY Tableware

The Tableware department at HAY brings together pieces designed to combine functionality with everyday elegance. HAY tableware stands out for its rigorous take on Scandinavian design: pared-back shapes, well-judged proportions and close attention to the durability of materials. With 8 references available at The Cool Republic, this selection covers all the table essentials, from plates to bowls, mugs and pots, each conceived to sit naturally within a contemporary interior.

Founded in Copenhagen in 2002, HAY has built its reputation on a clear vision: making good design accessible without compromising on quality or formal consistency. The tableware collection illustrates this commitment through pieces such as the Barro plates, designed by Portuguese designer Rui Pereira, whose rolled rims in glazed terracotta lend a tactile texture and a distinctly artisanal character. Colours vary from one range to the next, from neutral white to earthy tones, offering a palette suited to a wide variety of settings. Some lines play on transparency with borosilicate glass, impact-resistant and dishwasher-safe, while others rely on ceramic and stoneware for a more material presence on the table. To explore other options in the same vein, Bloomingville Tableware and &Klevering Tableware offer complementary alternatives within this Nordic universe.

HAY tableware is for those looking to put together a coherent table without chasing trends, for everyday meals just as much as for entertaining. These pieces pair easily with other items from the brand: a HAY dining table provides the ideal setting to show them off, while stoneware and ceramic products from other brands in TCR's tableware department can round out the ensemble with real consistency. An understated, self-assured choice for a table built to last.
