The Fläpps shoe rack by AMBIVALENZ mounts to the wall and completely frees up the entrance floor. Its vertical, narrow silhouette occupies little width, allowing it to slip behind a door, in a corridor or at the end of a passageway where no conventional piece of furniture would fit. The shelves fold against the panel when not in use, and the unit becomes a flat surface once more.
The construction follows the codes of the Fläpps family: birch plywood clad in coloured HPL, combined with stainless steel hinges. The laminate covering protects the edges and faces from repeated friction from soles, while the white finish reflects light in often dark transit areas. The stated load capacity allows several pairs to be stored without concern.
This format lends itself to a standalone installation as well as a wall composition, by repeating it side by side or pairing it with other elements from the range. The whole remains discreet once closed, which suits cramped entrances as well as interiors where storage must fade into the background.
