The Fläpps shelf is based on a simple idea: a wall panel that unfolds when needed and closes flat when it becomes unnecessary. This model with one shelf takes up little space on the wall and completely frees up the space once folded down. The mechanism, in stainless steel, remains visible and is part of the design.
The structure is made of birch plywood coated with coloured HPL, a closed surface that withstands daily use. The Puerto Natales version features the mountain illustration signed by Joe Mania, the designer of the Fläpps collection: when closed, the shelf reads like a painting hung on the wall; when open, it becomes a storage shelf again.
The vertical format is suitable for entrances, narrow corridors, children's bedrooms and small offices, wherever furniture placed on the floor gets in the way. Several modules can be combined on the same wall to create a larger ensemble, playing with the patterns and colours of the Fläpps family.
