The collection Rudolph is an original design born from the encounter between the imagination of the designer Vincent Van Duysen and the editorial line of the platform Serax.
The bench presented here is a variation on the Rudolph stool, designed as a module of base of the collection.
The principe is nonetheless the same: loose, fleecy cushions overhang a barely visible central wooden column. The cushion, spilling out of its column, seems to delicately invade the surroundings, like a vessel engulfing a kingdom or wrapping it in a shawl of wood and aluminum, lavishing it with cover and tranquility.
This dialogue between serenity and power traverse the works of the designers selected by the platform Serax. It is present even in the major inspiration of the designer who gave his name à la collection: Rudolph. Vincent Van Duysen thus says;
"The name Rudolph is derived from Rudolf Michael Schindler, a major protagonist of mid-century American modernism. I admire him greatly. The mid-century style is a great source of inspiration for my work; think of the typical built-in banquettes that grace modern interiors. But the most plus significant inspiration for this collection was the sofa I have in my home in Portugal, because of its proportions, lines and the serenity you feel when looking at it or sitting on it. "
