Studying mid-20th century hunting chairs, designers Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl have created a modern interpretation of these remarkably low seats.
Its anchor is inspired by Japanese joint construction combined with Danish wooden chairs: Samurai gives thoughtful place to the turned oak sections that support the comfort of the seat and its geometric plumbness, akin to the stick chairs popular in the 1950s. A specimen beautifully complemented by a chiseled oak ronde section, supporting the elegant curve of the back.
Samurai is offered in saddle leather: it folds around the chair like armor and carries the body with ease. The seat is mounted with brass rivets for maximum strength, while the back is mounted with adjustable leather straps and brass buckles.
