Kabuki is the new floor lamp created by Ferruccio Laviani for Italian company Kartell. Beguiling with its lacy dress, sensual curves and neo-baroque look, the Kabuki floor lamp is injection-moulded using a solid thermoplastic polymer technology. The sophisticated technique employed — a Kartell speciality — makes the piece sturdy and stable, while its perforated surface allows light to filter through, casting fine, delicate shadows onto the walls. Although at first glance it appears to be the fruit of meticulous craftsmanship, this piece is in fact strictly industrial, demonstrating once again all the possibilities offered by plastic. The floor lamp is available in several colours, and a pendant light completes the collection.
