High-back natural rattan armchair Grand-père - KOK

The rattan grandfather armchair, shown here in its high-backed version, is THE iconic model of French rattan craftsmanship. Hugely popular in our countryside in the early 1900s, it was sold at the time by pedlars travelling from village to village. Light, sturdy and affordable, it was sometimes the only touch of comfort in modest households: for knitting, smoking, listening to the wireless, reading by the fireside, or chatting under the apple tree… Comfortable, simple and robust, it remains thoroughly contemporary. Use it as an occasional armchair, though its seat height also makes it perfectly suited to a dining table.
