The rattan grandfather armchair, here in its high back version, is THE emblematic model of French-style rattan. Very popular in our countryside in the early 1900s, it was sold at the time by peddlers who went from village to village. Light, robust, and cheap, it was sometimes the only element of comfort in modest homes: for knitting, smoking, listening to the TSF, reading by the fire, or chatting under the apple tree… Comfortable, simple and robust, it remains very current. It will be used as an occasional chair, but its seating height also allows you to use it around a dining table.
