Airborne is a French brand of designer seating. It owes its success to its famous AA armchair, also known as the Butterfly. The design of this chair was in fact inspired by a chair used in the field by 19th-century British officers: "La Tripolina Chair". Today, it is the company Airborne Design that is the official manufacturer of this great design classic. The AA chair is a nod to the oldest French architecture magazine, "Architecture d'Aujourd'hui".
