The Penguin lounge chair is a mid-century masterpiece. Reclining and harmonious, yet wonderfully bold, it is defined by calm and balance. Sitting in this low, deep armchair brings a sense of comfort and security. The chair embraces you. When furniture designer Ib Kofod-Larsen created the Penguin chair in 1953, he focused on the person who would be sitting in it. Its curved backrest and sloping seat cradle the body, and its remarkably simple design offers a surprisingly high level of comfort. The graphic purity of the Penguin Lounge Chair allows it to blend harmoniously with other pieces of furniture.
