With a shape all its own, Hans J. Wegner's iconic CH24 Wishbone chair occupies a special place in the world of modern design.
When designing the CH24, Wegner chose to combine the backrest and armrest in a single piece. To ensure the stability of the à la steam folded top and guarantee comfortable support, Wegner developed the characteristic Y-shaped backrest that gave its name à la Wishbone chair.
The manufacture of each Wishbone chair requires plus 100 steps, most of which are carried out by hand. It takes a skilled craftsman around an hour to créer the hand-woven seat, using around 120 meters of paper cord, whose impressive durability and stability make the chair both strong and durable. The Wishbone chair offers comfort and stability while satisfying aesthetic desires for an elegant, distinctive form.
