The Leaf shelf by Form & Refine is the result of an effort to create a shelving system that offers a unique balance between aesthetics, stability and easy storage. It is characterised by a very pure aesthetic, the aim being for the leg pillars to be the centre of attention. With their organic, pared-back expression – they are shaped like a leaf and are a real eye-catcher. Its construction itself is innovative in its stability. It is even, with no visible screws or additional parts at the back of the shelf. This creates an impression of lightness.

The Leaf shelf is part of the Form & Refine OffCuts line, in which leftovers and materials discarded by various industries have been reused to create new recycled products of high quality and environmental value.

Designer: Finnish-born designer Jonas Lutz began studying design in Turku, Finland, and continued his studies at the renowned Linköping University institution, Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies, on the outskirts of Stockholm, Sweden. Lutz creates objects of bold, ingenious simplicity that invite touch. The foundation of his language rests on a deep understanding of the qualities of materials and of the production process. Elegant solutions are visible in most of his pieces, which intersect to form a unity, projecting both subtlety and strength. Jonas finds his inspiration in Nordic furniture traditions, as well as in the vibrant design culture of his adopted city, Rotterdam.
