Originally conceived by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld in 1934 as a way of using up surplus wooden shipping crates, the Crate collection has been relaunched as part of a Rietveld Originals x HAY collaboration. Made in keeping with the original design, the Crate dining table shares the same precisely balanced proportions and the same transparent construction to minimise production costs and streamline the assembly process.

Available in two different lengths, with a rectangular top and diagonal cross bars, the table's simplicity and spatial design reflect the designer's architectural principles: offering functionality and comfort without taking up space. Made from solid pine with a water-based lacquered finish in a choice of colours, the Crate dining table suits a multitude of outdoor settings.
