Wall lamp in black steel AJ - Louis Poulsen

Arne Jacobsen designed this lamp with other pieces of furniture and decoration for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1957. This wall lamp produces a pleasant downward light thanks to à la the inner side of its shade painted in white. From plus, the shade can be rotated to adjust the light distribution. The AJ family of lamps is considered to be Arne Jacobsen's best-known design plus in the world. In plus of AJ Applique, the AJ family includes a table lamp, a table lamp plus small, a floor lamp, as well as a table mounted lamp. All these models were used in the SAS Royal Hotel after its opening in 1960. The AJ lamp's characteristically sleek shape with its pristine lighting was featured throughout the hotel in copper or stainless steel finishes. Along with AJ Royal, the AJ family of lamps was part of the overall design concept Arne Jacobsen created for the hotel. Jacobsen designed almost everything himself. The parallel lines between the straight lines and the combination of right and rounded angles present in the design lamp can be found in the geometric silhouettes of his buildings.
