The vase Sumo by 101 Copenhagen celebrates the human body. Referring to the Japanese sport Sumo, all vases are voluminous in size and shape, resting on narrow, pointed legs. All vases have different openings, from traditional narrow openings to double openings and deeply carved openings.
The collection Sumo is interested in the contrast between the familiar shapes of the vases and the addition of artistic and abstract ideas and details plus, challenging our individual perceptions of the shape of a vase. The Sumo collection is conceived as a self-contained artistic object that, when brought together, forms a family of united objects.
