The five clay-white stoneware vases are Marie Michielssen's first steps as a ceramist. Anyone who follows her work knows that Marie loves to work with her hands. Plus early on she stated that modeling with plaster and paper mache was a form of meditation for her because of the repetitive nature of the actions. Therefore, the step to ceramics was not so grand. The simple cylinders are irregular in shape: a mark of a craft, literally, beyond compare. With or without flowers, this caractère unique places them as prime decorative assets.
