Mika and Julie Tolvanen, bird enthusiasts based in Helsinki, designed Bird Silo, Pidät's first product. They studied birds' feeding habits for several years, feeding them from prototypes at their dining room window.
The product is designed to work like a grain silo. You lift the top cone, pour in sunflower seeds or peanuts, and the feeder fills from the bottom up.
When designing this product, the Tolvanen studio wanted to create an object that is both functional and attractive, with minimal impact on the environment.

That is why this feeder is made from 100% recycled plastic, as is its hanging rope. Only the hardware is stainless steel. In pursuit of a circular economy, the studio chose to recycle post-consumer plastic and to colour their feeders using a water-free painting process.

Visually, the Silo feeder features a cone-shaped roof and a concertina-pleated structure, giving it a contemporary style. To bring a touch of colour to your garden, the Silo feeder comes in several colours, specifically chosen so as not to frighten the birds.

An added bonus: the feeder is designed for easy assembly and dismantling, all the parts are recyclable, and it is delivered in a fully folded cardboard box to avoid producing any plastic waste.
