The transformation of Bellhop: a Barber Osgerby classic returns in glass One of Barber Osgerby's most iconic designs for Flos, Bellhop, has gone from a compact, colourful portable lamp to a large-scale glass lamp, exploring the legendary design through a new material gesture and taking it to new aesthetic and technical possibilities.
With this new evolution, Barber & Osgerby wanted to achieve a soft, warm and welcoming ambient light, to illuminate larger spaces without creating strong contrasts. Hence the idea of a glass diffuser, developed in collaboration with Flos's R&D department.
