Orange aluminum suspension PH5 Mini - Louis Poulsen

The suspension emits a glare-free light directed downwards, while illuminating its own structure, creating a soft and comfortable glow in the center of the suspension. Poul Henningsen designed PH 5 in 1958 in reaction to the shape and size changes manufacturers were making to their bulbs at the time, which Poul Henningsen strongly opposed. The PH 5 was then suitable for all types of light sources, providing a pleasant light. The success of the PH 5 was such that it became synonymous with "Poul Henningsen lighting", and highlighted the lighting of the contemporary plus encore today, which the PH 5 Mini does in turn. The smaller version of PH 5 was launched in 2017. It is based on Poul Henningsen's original concept, with a top shade of about 30 cm in diameter. Poul Henningsen takes a scientific unique approach to light and designs many luminaires based on the triple lampshade invented in 1925 to produce excellent quality non-glare lighting. He is inspired by the logarithmic spiral and achieves a homogeneous distribution of light with his multiple shades that limit glare and annoying shadows.
