Oak bird with black steel legs L Shorebird black - Normann Copenhagen

Let your interior décor take flight with the Shorebirds; a range of solid wood figurines with a stylised yet wonderfully spirited expression.

Icelandic designer Sigurjón Pálsson has created a range of wooden birds full of character. The simple, unadorned silhouette of the Shorebirds gives them a unique expression. At the same time, great care has been taken over the smallest details, such as the variations in the thickness of the body, the length of the neck and the positioning of the legs and beak.

The largest of the three birds is inspired by the curlew, with its long neck and distinguished beak curving downwards. It is an aristocratic creature. Its long legs take slow, considered steps as it looks cautiously around. The medium-sized bird, meanwhile, is alert and active like the robin. This elegant bird is often found in the company of other wading birds. Finally, we have the sandpiper, a sociable little bird often found in large flocks.

Arrange the birds in a flock, combine different colours or include a single shorebird in a small display alongside other personal belongings. The elegant shorebird fits effortlessly into any setting and brings a touch of originality to your room.

The bird is available in oak, ash and walnut.
