With Hyg, Simon Legald has designed an exclusive range in which soft lines and enveloping contours create a cosy, welcoming space. Hyg is made for hygge. The series, which consists of a sofa, armchairs and a pouf, is like an embrace of warm, sincere shapes. The generous silhouette exudes a primal organic purity. Its voluminous form is offset by a slim contour, which refines its expression. The raised sides gently shield the room, while a wide seat allows for a broad range of relaxed postures. "My vision for Hyg was to create a room within the room; a place that gives you a sense of peace and security, with a playful, free expressiveness. The concave shape of the design invites contemplation. You can curl up in the armchair with a cup of coffee and a book, while the sofa version brings attention back towards the centre, towards company and conversation," Simon Legald tells us.
