Continuing GamFratesi's material exploration of travertine that began with the Epic and Doric tables, the Pietra side tables celebrate the fascinating patterns found in the stone's surface. Available in two sizes and two colors, the tables are deceptively light, each built à la by hand from six pieces but looking like solid blocks. A raised lip around the slightly curved edge of the tabletop creates a useful surface tray-like shape, ideal for displaying objects or safely placing a glass. Carefully cut, fitted and finished, the curved edges and corners illustrate the extraordinary level of craftsmanship behind the table.

The latest creation to emerge from GamFratesi's exploration of travertine stone, Pietra is a pair of side tables that balance monumental presence with delicacy and softness.

Named after the Italian word for stone in honor of the material and its origin, Pietra is a celebration of the fascinating patterns found à la surface in travertine, a work of art created over millions of years by the actions of the Earth elle -itself. Each piece of travertine has its own unique pattern of color and veining, so that no two tables are ever the same.

The table is made up of six pieces of stone attached ensemble à la by hand, giving the impression of a single block of material, yet remaining surprisingly light and easy to transport.

The imposing solidity of Pietra's cuboid shape is offset by the soft contours of its edges and corners, which are polished à la by hand to a gentle curve, giving à la table a distinctly sculptural aspect.

The table's top edge transforms into a practical tray, ideal for displaying objects or safely holding cups and glasses. Pietra is thus perfectly suited to use as a bedside table, as a practical addition to a chaise longue in a living room or, in the case of the plus large of the two variants, next to a sofa or at the foot of a bed.

Both small and large versions are made entirely of travertine. Pietra occasional tables are available in Neutral White, characterized by white and gray veins, and Lively Sepia, which features a rich mix of shades, including browns, beiges and grays.
