4-leg swivel chair in aluminium and PP with black leather Hyg - Normann Copenhagen

Inspired by Danish hygge, designer Simon Legald created the Hyg furniture series. When the series was introduced in 2018, it consisted of a 2-seater sofa, lounge chairs and a pouf. In 2020, the range was expanded with a chair and a bar stool that share the hallmarks of the lounge series: warm, organic curves designed with sublime comfort in mind.

The concept of hygge is all about feeling good – safety, warmth and comfort are all part of its DNA, and it is precisely these qualities that form the blueprint for the Hyg collection. With the new models, the range – and the comfort – expands even more, opening up new possibilities for creating coherent settings with dining and relaxation areas. "The moments when we sit together, immerse ourselves in conversation and share a meal – for me, that's when the feeling of hygge reaches its peak. So it was only natural for the Hyg range to provide the setting for those moments too. The sense of well-being isn't only linked to the visual experience of the design, it lies in the overall sensory experience. A great deal of effort went into sculpting the shape to ensure the human body is rested and supported, to make it comfortable to sit in, in short," says Simon Legald.

In this "Ultra Leather" version, the leather brings an even more authentic touch to your interior, without skimping on comfort.
