Ochre felt ball rug 250 cm Big One - myfelt

Felt ball rugs have arrived at The Cool Republic: allow us to introduce German brand myfelt, whose relaxed, fresh approach to design was bound to win us over.

Made in line with fair trade principles, the Big One collection is crafted from large felt balls, each one individually handmade.

As an unexpected eye-catcher, a single purple felt ball completes this beautiful round rug in ochre.

Its round shape gives it a touch of originality: it will easily find its place at the centre of a living room or a bedroom, and its bright, cheerful colours will further enhance this delightful effect.

myfelt felt ball rugs are made from pure New Zealand sheep's wool, regarded as one of the finest of all for its durability and exceptional quality.

At the very start of the manufacturing process, the wool is carded in a factory in Nepal. It is then washed several times and dyed under very strict ecological and humanitarian conditions, which are approved by GoodWeave, one of the leading organisations campaigning for a fair carpet industry.

Each individual ball is brought by hand into its final shape over several stages. The finished balls are then sewn into a rug, which can consist of up to 50,000 felt balls, using a knotting process specially developed by myfelt.

A beautiful decorative piece made to the highest fair trade standards – now that's an idea that takes you places!
