Anthracite felt ball rug 200x300 cm Big One - myfelt

Felt ball rugs are making their debut at The Cool Republic: allow us to introduce the German brand myfelt, whose relaxed, fresh approach to design was bound to win us over.

Made in line with fair trade principles, the Big One collection is crafted from large felt balls, each one individually handmade.

As an unexpected eye-catcher, a single yellow felt ball completes this beautiful rectangular rug in an anthracite colourway.

Its rectangular shape gives it a wonderfully original touch: it will easily find its place at the heart of a living room or a bedroom, and its bright, cheerful colours will only heighten that happy effect.

myfelt felt ball rugs are made from pure New Zealand sheep's wool, regarded as one of the most precious of all for its durability and exceptional quality.

Right at the start of the manufacturing process, the wool is carded in a factory in Nepal. It is then washed several times and dyed under very strict ecological and humanitarian conditions, which are moreover approved by GoodWeave, one of the leading associations for a fair rug industry.

Each individual ball is brought into its final shape by hand over several stages. The finished balls are then sewn into a rug, which may comprise up to 50,000 felt balls, using a knotting technique specially developed by myfelt.

A beautiful decorative piece made to the very highest fair trade standards – now there's an idea that takes you places!
