A masterpiece of proportion, the Eddy lamp sees a lampshade float weightlessly above a solid base with organic shapes to create an object combining balance and movement. Steel and marble are the main materials of this ambient lamp, where the golden gleam of brass adds the finishing touch. It consists of a flat lampshade, balanced on a base handmade from solid Italian marble; the play of proportions in the base gives its clean silhouette a dynamic appearance, as though in motion. The lampshade and the base are joined by a round pivot in polished gold brass, which allows the direction of the light to be adjusted. With its lampshade directing the light downwards, the Eddy lamp illuminates itself as well as its surroundings. The light thus cast onto the marble highlights the variations inherent in this material. This table lamp provides a soft light, which can be adjusted using the brass dimmer, a refined detail punctuating the top of the lampshade.
