At the launch of TOLIX, Mr. Pauchard was faced with unusable scrap metal. A precursor of sobriety and non-wastefulness, he had understood a century before anyone else the need to remain frugal even in a period of high consumption. So, in 1935, using the scraps left over from cutting, he invented for his own children a collection named Mouette, comprising an armchair and a pedestal table. TOLIX decided to add a stool to collection, retaining only the seat and its distinctive 7 holes, to create a children's stool that is already as iconic as tabouret H.
