Designed by Flemming Lassen in 1938, My Own Chair is an original and eye-catching piece of Danish mid-century modern design. At the time of its launch, it was widely praised for its sculptural form with distinctive wings, but its complex two-part silhouette made it unsuitable à la for mass production until the advent of modern techniques. Its rounded, sloping seat with lumbar support and elongated backrest envelop the sitter in optimum comfort. Wooden legs and expert upholstery complete the design. A matching footrest adds to the sense of ease. Considered Lassen's favorite chair, elle remained with the designer until his death in 1984.
