The Hedvig Canister by Broste Copenhagen is a small box carved from marble, in a black finish with irregular veins. Each piece therefore presents a pattern unique to it, impossible to reproduce from one item to another.
Its silhouette remains simple: a low cylindrical body, topped with a lid that sits without visible closure. The compact proportions allow it to find its place on a bedside table, a bathroom shelf or a desk, where it holds jewellery, cotton pads or small everyday items.
The material gives the object a density that you feel as soon as you lift it. The black marble responds well to light surfaces as well as warm woods, and lends itself to compositions with other pieces from the Hedvig family.
