Felt ball rugs are making their entrance at The Cool Republic: meet the German brand myfelt, whose relaxed, fresh approach to design was bound to win us over.

Made in line with fair trade principles, the Cube collection is crafted from large felt balls, each one individually shaped by hand.

Its four contrasting colours add a touch of originality: the Conrast rug by myfelt will easily find its place at the heart of a living room or a bedroom, and its bright, cheerful colours will only enhance that happy effect.

myfelt felt ball rugs are made from pure New Zealand sheep's wool, regarded as one of the most precious of all for its durability and outstanding quality.

At the very start of the manufacturing process, the wool is carded in a workshop in Nepal. It is then washed several times and dyed under very strict ecological and humanitarian conditions, which are moreover approved by GoodWeave, one of the leading organisations campaigning for a fair carpet industry.

Each individual ball is brought to its final shape by hand over several stages. The finished balls are then sewn into a rug, which can comprise up to 50,000 felt balls, using a knotting process developed especially by myfelt.
