Designed in 1985 within the Nucleon 8 collective, the Paulistano OC is the office version of the famous armchair created by architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, which for many years furnished the lounges of the São Paulo Athletics Club, itself designed by the Brazilian architect. The constructivist concept of the frame, made from a single bent steel bar, and its seat, in leather or cotton, give this armchair an aesthetic lightness and incomparable comfort.
Produced in small series over the years, the Paulistano armchair emerges from the past to show that the purity and elegance of its lines are timeless: a masterpiece.
In partnership with Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Objekto decided to produce this exceptional armchair. Made on a larger scale, this armchair will no longer be simply an object coveted by collectors, but a piece accessible to all.
The Paulistano armchair is part of the highly renowned permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA)
