Marie Michielssen has been a designer at Serax for more than thirty years. Her creations are distinguished by exceptional craftsmanship and a perfect balance between creativity and functionality. The Sophia collection is a further illustration of this. Initially conceived as a series of vases, it has since grown into a complete tableware collection. Every Sophia piece features irregular, intuitive shapes, hand-painted by Marie Michielssen herself. The spontaneous, dynamic designs in blue ink draw inspiration from Oriental calligraphy, where the inspiration of the moment is paramount. Thanks to this meticulous handwork, each object reveals unique imperfections that give every piece its exceptional character.
