Designer
Pierre Charrié
He is also dear to the philosopher Bernard Stiegler, who examines industrial and digital tools – a subject of the utmost interest to us as designers.
A designer-explorer, Pierre Charrié brings a contemporary reading to craft materials and traditional manufacturing processes. He works with weavers and drum makers, and explores Washi paper and Kumihimo silk to create today's artefacts.
A graduate of ENSCI-Les Ateliers and the Beaux-Arts de Nîmes art school, Pierre Charrié has built up solid experience in product design, working with creative agencies for a wide range of clients. He now works as an independent designer and carries out research into the sensory dimension of everyday objects. He is interested in the way materials, sounds and gestures can create new interactions and question the way we use things. These forward-looking projects, which have won awards and been exhibited, feed into his collaborations with clients, whom he supports in the design, development and industrialisation of innovative products.
