On what legal basis is your personal data processed?

In accordance with personal data regulations, the processing operations set out in this confidentiality and privacy protection policy have received your prior consent.
Indeed, when registering, you necessarily accepted the confidentiality and privacy protection policy and, where applicable, you expressly authorised us, where applicable, to share some of your data with our partners, under the terms of this confidentiality and privacy protection policy.

The personal data collected by The Cool Republic may include the following data:

- Banking and financial data

When you place an order, Stripe, PayPal or Alma, our payment providers, collect and process personal data relating to your payment methods (bank card number, bank card expiry date, card security code – the latter not being retained, etc.).
To secure data during online payment, The Cool Republic uses advanced encryption techniques such as Secure Socket Layer (SSL). SSL is a standard protocol that ensures the secure exchange of data. All data provided by the Customer when ordering will be encrypted by The Cool Republic.

- Data used to identify the Customer: surname, first name, postal address, email address, telephone number, age, gender, civil status, nationality and company name, to which The Cool Republic assigns a member number.

If you use Google to log in to your The Cool Republic account ('Continue with Google'), the information returned (such as your first name, surname and email address) will be used to create your account. The level of security is therefore the same as if you had given us this information directly. As a reminder, any account can be anonymised can be anonymised by its holder if they so wish.

We collect information relating to the transaction carried out (transaction number, purchase details, etc.), as well as information relating to the settlement of invoices issued from or via the Site (payment terms, discounts granted, receipts, balances and unpaid amounts).
Some Data is mandatory and some is optional, as indicated in the collection form on our Site.

When you sign up for private sales, you agree to receive promotional offers by email up to 5 days a week. If you no longer wish to receive these emails, simply click on the unsubscribe links included in all our emails or send us an email via the contact form.

The Cool Republic collects and processes Data relating to the management of the commercial relationship with you: product purchased, quantity, amount, delivery and/or billing address(es), telephone number, entry code, as well as any other relevant information concerning delivery (tracking numbers, shipment status, etc.), history of purchases and services, product returns, correspondence and/or telephone exchanges with you and our after-sales service, exchanges and comments from members, person(s) in charge of customer relations, customer reviews, etc.

We also collect and process the data necessary for i) carrying out loyalty, prospecting, research, survey and promotional activities, ii) organising and managing prize competitions, lotteries and any promotional operation, such as the date of entry, the answers given in the prize competitions and the nature of the prizes offered, iii) the Data relating to the contributions of members who post reviews of products or of the site.

Data is also collected in order to record your preferences in terms of communications (channel, content, frequency) and the display of sales, as provided on the Site's forms.

- Electronic identification data: IP address, cookies, traffic data and location data

Sharing of personal data by The Cool Republic

Unless otherwise provided in the terms and conditions of sale, The Cool Republic undertakes not to assign, sell or transfer in any way members' personal Data to a third party without the Member's prior written consent.

The Cool Republic will inform members prior to any use of personal data for commercial prospecting purposes on behalf of third parties and, where this is required by law, your consent will be obtained or you will be given the opportunity to object before any data is transferred.

In the course of its business, The Cool Republic may be required to disclose personal data solely to persons involved in operating the site (logistics, marketing and technical subcontractors and providers of payment or payment-security services).

How long is your Personal Data kept by The Cool Republic?

Your personal data concerning your member profile as declared and/or completed by you on the site, as well as data concerning your browsing and/or your behaviour on the site and the promotional advertisements displayed to you on the site, are kept for a period of three (3) years from your last activity on the site or on an electronic communication medium (in particular an email) from The Cool Republic in your capacity as a member. At the end of this period, your member profile is considered "inactive" and will be deactivated automatically. It will therefore be up to you to create a new one for any new Order.

Audience measurement statistics and your site visit data are also kept for 3 years.

Your personal data relating to an order on the site (surname, first name, product or service, delivery address, billing address, etc.) are kept for a period of three (3) years from an order. They remain accessible to you as well as to us, in particular from your member account, so that you and we can have a complete history of your Orders. We can delete them at any time upon simple request from you.
However, at the end of the aforementioned periods, including, where necessary, from the date of your deletion request, your personal data may be archived in order to comply with our legal, accounting and tax obligations (such as the obligation to keep invoices for a period of ten (10) years set out in Article L. 123-22 of the French Commercial Code) and/or at the very least for the applicable limitation period (such as the ordinary five (5) year limitation period established by Article 2224 of the French Civil Code).

The Member's rights of access and rectification

Members have the rights of access to, rectification of and objection to the processing of your personal data.
