Hoptimist

In the late 1960s, Gustav Ehrenreich created this cheerful movement, which has since taken its rightful place in the history of Danish design. Today, there’s a cheerful Hoptimist for every occasion. So you’ll always find a Hoptimist to spread joy wherever it goes. That’s the whole idea behind the Hoptimists: to spread joy and put a smile on everyone’s face.

Today, when we revisit the design, we do so in keeping with Ehrenreich’s vision. His basic idea was to design the Hoptimists using a circle and an ellipse, and this idea forms the basis for both the classic Hoptimists and the new generation.

Bimble and Bumble were the very first Hoptimists to be made in Hans Gustav Ehrenreich’s workshop. Reflecting the spirit of the times, these early little bouncing friends were characterised by their bright, harmonious colours.

Bimble is the female optimist with smiling eyes, dressed in a dress, whilst Bumble is the thoughtful male optimist with wide-open eyes and a little stick shaped like a top hat on his head. The adorable couple are as energetic and popular as ever.
