Zieta

For the brand, design acts as a prism through which various disciplines are viewed. They combine art with bionics, technology and innovation. And they create forms and silhouettes, seeking out unexplored directions and inspiration from nature. They are constantly redefining the concept of conquering space. And they strive to embrace and inhabit it through interdisciplinary artworks and objects crafted from blown metal.

"We don’t follow trends; we create them." The brand tells stories through steel, basing their work on a controlled loss of control. Barely acknowledging the boundary between art and design, they create timeless objects – not just furniture. A philosophy reflected in metallic surfaces that are never exactly the same. And one that transforms curves into something unique. “We give them meaning.” Although driven by an ever-present desire for perfection, Zieta embraces imperfections to create pieces for spaces ready to take on the future.

At Zieta Studio, they create functional objects whose potential is maximised through a bottom-up approach. The starting point is a fascination with the material. The next step involves stabilisation and moulding. The end result is objects whose form is the outcome of a collaborative compromise between the design team and the material’s inherent properties.

The main area of research is steel, but FiDU’s proprietary technology is also applied to other metals, such as aluminium and copper.

The essence of the design is driven by its parametric nature. Processes are automated and new generative technologies are utilised, maximising both material and human potential. The works are the result of years of research into the properties of metal, using the exclusive FiDU method of internal pressure steel forming to create objects and sculptures that stimulate the senses. The forms merely hint at their functions.
