Bar Stools

How do you choose the right designer bar stool? Kitchen stool, high, low, adjustable… there is one to suit every taste. There are indeed a number of factors to consider in order to find the high bar chair that best suits your home. Here is our advice.

A bar stool at 60 or 75 cm?

To avoid any mistakes, it is important to measure the height of your bar table top or worktop.

For optimum seating comfort, we recommend a difference in height of 30 cm between the seat of your bar stool and the table top. If you would rather play it safe, go for a height-adjustable stool that will adapt to your every whim.

Combining quality and comfort, our selection of stools – designer bar stools that are right on trend, with brands such as Normann Copenhagen, Muuto, Bloomingville and HKliving – brings together bar chairs in every height (from 60 cm to 75 cm).

A stool with or without a backrest?

The question of whether your bar stool has a backrest is of course a matter of comfort. A small backrest, as on the Form bar chair by Scandinavian brand Normann Copenhagen, will support only your lower back and will tuck away easily under your kitchen bar. A classic stool without a backrest will, however, lend a more purist look to your home and take up even less space under your table.

If you use your bar stool on a daily basis, seats with a high back and armrests will be more comfortable.

For small spaces, we recommend choosing a folding bar stool that you can easily put away and bring out only at mealtimes. A folding stool can also come in handy when you have guests.

Which material should you choose?

Between fabric bar stools, lacquered steel, metal or even natural materials such as rattan, the choice of materials and colours is extremely wide.

If you like less traditional interiors with a masculine touch, opt for a metal bar stool with an industrial design.

For vintage interiors, we recommend going for wooden models with rounded shapes.
