Petite Friture

Before setting up her own business, the founder of Petite Friture – an HEC graduate – began her career in the office of the Minister for Culture, Jean-Jacques Aillagon, and went on to join the FIAC’s organising committee. In 2009, she embarked on a daring venture to pursue her passion for design and decided to set up Petite Friture, a company specialising in designer furniture and design objects.

Petite Friture is, above all, a state of mind that lies at the heart of its design approach and is centred on optimism, poetry, generosity, authenticity, high standards and interdisciplinary thinking. The brand thus creates a distinct world of its own and is committed to showcasing emerging designers. Petite Friture has a style all of its own, blending elegance, technical expertise and emotion. It is a brand that pays close attention to detail, materials, colours and patterns, and boasts a contemporary style with its own distinct identity. Making creativity a conscious choice, it collaborates with new talents – all enthusiastic and gifted – to develop lighting, furniture and objects that tell stories and make you want to savour them every day. Through its collections, it showcases its latest discoveries, new forms and unconventional uses, always prioritising creativity and design.

Thanks to its creative talents, Petite Friture offers designer furniture and designer lighting without limiting itself to specific product categories: minimalist pendant lights, lamps, floor lamps, wall lights, sofas, armchairs, chairs, shelves, cushions, carafes, coat hooks and other decorative accessories. The brand showcases its latest creations in the form of collections.

One example that springs to mind is the Vertigo pendant light, Petite Friture’s best-seller, designed by Constance Guisset, which has made a lasting impression on the world of interior design. The Vertigo pendant light is inspired by an enveloping, refined cabin that creates a sense of intimacy. The fascination with this contemporary light stems from its extremely lightweight fibreglass structure, which comes to life with the slightest breeze, as well as the delicate shadows it casts when lit.

The designer has once again made a name for herself with her ‘Francis’ collection, which features mirrored coffee tables born from the fusion of totemic and solemn forms with Petite Friture’s iconic mirror, winner of the Wallpaper Design Award. The strength of this coffee table lies in the meticulous watercolour work. Constance Guisset adds: “My research finds multiple applications in set design, object design and video. I strive to create light, animated objects whose elegant fluidity evokes wonder and allows the mind to escape into a dreamlike state.”

Petite Friture is also developing a wide range of outdoor furniture through its new ‘Week-end’ outdoor collection, which combines minimalism, clean lines, elegance and bold design. Each piece of garden furniture is modular and comes in the form of a garden chair, bench, stool, garden table and armchair. This collection allows you to create a genuine lounge-style garden seating area, perfect for relaxation, whilst bringing a contemporary design aesthetic to your outdoor space.

It was therefore only natural that Petite Friture’s range of contemporary furniture should feature in the pages of The Cool Republic, as we share the same curiosity, the same thirst for discovery and the same delight in sharing these experiences with you.

Always on top of the latest trends, the Cool Team brings you a selection from Petite Friture: design, design and more design – we’ve thought of everything to ensure you’re completely satisfied.
