Founded in 1967 by Lisbeth and Gubi Olsen, GUBI has since become one of the leading brands for Danish design revisited.
Today, the company is managed by Lisbeth and Gubi Jacob Olsen's son, Jacob Olsen, who has been able to evolve and refine the aesthetics of his brand: clean lines, simple but always with the little extra design detail that can make all the difference.
Always in search of innovation, GUBI reissues icons or future design icons to adapt them to the needs of today's customers. Each piece in their collection carries a story and is closely linked to the names of their designers: Greta Gossman and her Cobra head-shaped lights, Mathieu Mathégot for the famous Matégot metal coat rack, or the GamFratesi designer's due for the emblematic Beetle Chair. Their collections celebrate beauty, life, passion and design from the past and the present.
Apart from the great designers, GUBI also collaborates with young, lesser known talents to design their own collections. The Masculo Lounge Chair design chair in steel and leather from the Italian label GamFratesi is a good example of this.
GUBI's success is also based on the wide choice of designer furniture and lighting for the home. With a catalogue of more than 150 items, design enthusiasts will find something to suit their taste in a multitude of colours and patterns ranging from mirrors to velvet chairs and designer and original lighting fixtures.
For those who prefer an industrial style, GUBI offers its range of wall shelves in metal and Demon wood. Designed in 1954 by Mathieu Matégot GUBI, this modular shelving system is a perfect example of a creation that revises an everyday object with originality.
In the same range, we find the Matégot coat rack, which has also become an icon of Danish design. Functional and decorative, it celebrates organic and attractive shapes. In a corridor, entrance hall or bedroom, the brass room with its three arms will welcome your coats, hats and other accessories.
For an interior with a Scandinavian look, the Multi Light collection suspensions will bring a resolutely artistic touch. With their cylindrical and spherical shapes, they create a beautifully asymmetrical light beam for direct or more diffuse lighting.
For a more contemporary decor, Gubi continues to offer innovative design objects that follow the latest trends in Danish design. The Beetle Chairs from GamFratesi have become a classic in Scandinavian design and are available with a polypropylene seat for a more contemporary feel or in velvet for a more classic interior.
Its organic shape, functionality and play of materials make this chair a timeless piece for any room in the house.
